About the Artist
Stephanie Cummings is a Japanese-American artist and fine jewelry designer whose practice bridges sculpture, environmental consciousness, and emotional memory. Trained in both the visual arts and environmental science, her work investigates the ways material, craft, and cultural heritage can be transformed into intimate, wearable forms.
Her design philosophy is rooted in her Buddhist upbringing and her experiences with Greenpeace—including time aboard the Arctic Sunrise during the Deepwater Horizon response—which shaped her enduring respect for the natural world. Working in 3D modeling and CAD/CAM since 2019, Cummings merges mechanical precision with poetic intent, creating jewelry that evokes both resilience and fragility.
Her artistic path began with watercolor, oils, and sculpture at an early age, later studying at Coronado School of the Arts and exhibiting in Art Basel Miami in partnership with the Lonely Whale Foundation. In 2024, she was selected for the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Jewelry Loupe Project, where she received mentorship from Michele Lau, QVC diamond expert and host. Through her practice, Cummings seeks to create objects that carry both the intimacy of adornment and the vastness of ecological and emotional connection.

Hi, I'm Stephy.
I come from a big family of makers. My grandparents started a restaurant in Japan, where life was loud, loving, and full of meaning—whether in a shared meal or through a family tradition they began: creating custom jewelry to mark special moments. Both taught me the power of intentional creation and connection, and those early memories shaped everything for me.
Jewelry became my way of carrying that feeling forward. I learned early that the most meaningful pieces aren’t just beautiful—they're personal —something made with care, emotion, and intention.
Stephy Ai is my creative process that was born from that same impulse: to give form to feeling. For the ones who want their stories close, and their taste just slightly off-center.
As an artist, I’m fascinated by the way love shows up—the beautiful, the bliss, the heartbreak, and the weird, messy in-between.
My middle name, Ai, means “love” in Japanese, so maybe this was always in the cards.
Thank you for being here. I hope you discover something that already feels like part of your story.
Stephy xo
